From May 31st to June 2nd 2017, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Greece (NRDC-GR) hosted in its premises in Thessaloniki, the ACO CIMIC Key Leaders Conference 2017, organized by SHAPE J9 Division in collaboration with US EUCOM HQ/J9.
The aim of the conference was to provide mechanisms to address developments which have a direct or indirect impact upon ACO CIMIC/CMI activities. CLKC17 provided an important forum for exchange of ideas and information on developments related to CMI and the enhancement of ACO and National Component CIMIC capability while at the same time it was also an opportunity for the NATO CIMIC community to network and build cohesion.
The event was attended by representatives at ACOS/Branch Head level with an interest in responsibilities for CIMIC & CMI from ACO, ACT as well as other Non NATO Entities, such as The International Committee of the Red Cross, Transparency International, George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, the University of Makedonia and La7 Headline News. VCOS SHAPE Lieutenant General Hugues DELORT-LAVAL chaired the conference. Ambassador Susan ELLIOTT, US EUCOM Civilian DCOM and Foreign Policy Advisor also participated to the event, presenting “The US view over future strategic trends and challenges”. Overall participation reached 65 military and civilian representatives.
