On June 11th, 2018, Commander of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Greece (NRDC-GR) Lieutenant General Dimitrios Bikos welcomed in the exercise location in Assiros camp the Distinguished Visitors, during the last day of the successful execution of exercise “Trident Jaguar 2018”, where 1300 soldiers from 26 Nations participated.
The HQ honored with their presence the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Lieutenant General Konstantinos FLOROS, the Commander of Joint Warfare Center (JWC) Major General Andrzej Reudowicz (POL A), Representatives from Allied Command Transformation (ACT), Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), other NATO HQs, Partner Nations and Commands, General Consuls from NRDC-GR Contributing Nations, and other distinguished guests from national and local authorities.
Exercise “TRIDENT JAGUAR 2018” served as the final stage of a roadmap of NRDC-GR transformation to a Joint Task Force HQ. ACT, JFCBS and JWC along with other NATO and National HQs as well as Partner Nations’ representatives had a valuable contribution to this success. Through their knowledge and expertise, they added new, innovative and effective dimensions, regarding the mastery of each actor’s effort.
Greece offered the ground to the participants through its advanced capabilities. Jointness served as an important link, which unified the various functions of NRDC-GR. During the exercise, the special experience and expertise of the participants, through modern and integrated techniques and methods, enriched and strengthened the processes of the armed forces in the nowadays complex, ever-changing operational environment.
The valuable guidance of the leadership was a key factor for the successful conclusion of this evaluation, while inspiring the personnel during each critical phase of this advanced and demanding process. With the significant participation of the Host Nation Greece, the multinational staff proved in an exemplary way the strong human relations that infiltrate the military family of the Alliance.
Having completed its transformation to Joint Task Force (Land) HQ NRDC-GR constitutes a highly capable, adaptive, reliable NATO HQ, ready to cope with future challenges. Strengthened by the high level of training and professionalism, along with hearty cooperation and willingness of its personnel, the HQ reflects our Contributing Nations’ dedication and commitment to the Alliance.
