On September 18th to 22nd, 2017, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Greece Joint Fires Branch conducted the “Advanced FAST-FAS & Dynamic Targeting” external training course at the HQ premises in Thessaloniki, Greece. The course attended participants from NATO Command and Forces Structure Headquarters (NCS & NFS HQs) as well as representatives from NRDC-GR affiliated and subordinate units.
NRDC-GR Chief of Staff (COS) welcomed all the participants, highlighted the importance for such initiatives that constitute a great opportunity for the young officers to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to use these function systems as well as for the older ones to be updated and be familiar with new procedures.
The course has been designed to prepare multinational NATO Command Structure and NATO Force Structure personnel to be ready to participate as members of Dynamic Targeting or Time Sensitive Targets Cells. The training focused to provide the participants with the necessary knowledge and to develop their skills to use FAST application in dynamic and targeting procedures up to the advance level, including configuration-setup of the relevant tools in order to match NATO targeting standards, including both the Land and the Joint perspective.
The meeting was conducted in a very fruitful atmosphere with its broad participation has set the conditions for a successful continuation of targeting courses organized by NRDC-GR HQ the last years. NRDC-GR is seeking any opportunity to work together with Sister HQs and the wider NATO community, in order to achieve the maximum outcome for each event as a force multiplier to its National and Multinational personnel, utilizing and enhancing the Hellenic commitment to the Alliance.
